I am a mathematician. I am about to leave the nest and do my first steps ans an independant researcher. I love sewing. I started out by sewing clothing by hand for my barbie dolls. When I was a teenager, I started making costumes. I did more of those as an underraduate. I really picked up sewing in graduate school, a year or two ago. I started with dresses, but I have now moved on to pants and t-shirts, the stuff I actually wear. I now mostly sew from my own patterns, you just can't beat the fit, and I really dislike pinning tissue paper to fabric!
