Hi I'm Sara and I am from Beccles, UK. I always remember making things since I was very small. When I was maybe seven my aunty taught me the basics of crochet and since then I have worked out the rest. I really love to make clothes, but previously have always used commercial patterns. Currently I am experimenting with making my own patterns, I've always had to alter patterns because I am tall with broad shoulders that are disproportionate to the rest of me. Also I have altered patterns moderately. I was reading a book that I borrowed from the public library awhile ago, which compared making patterns from blocks or sloppers to the way that you can alter patterns if there are elements that you wish to change. So once I have finished my current project (my moleskin coat), I am going to have a go. So far I have drawn up blocks to my body size and from that I have drawn off a selection of patterns pieces which if the theory works right should assemble up into a corset.
