Step 1 of 12
Collect your materials together.
I have used some cord fabric, lace, buttons, ribbon, and seed beads.

Step 2 of 12
print out your pattern on recycled paper. Pin to the fabric and cut out. Be sure to mark all markings on the fabric by using a contrasting thread or tailors chalk.

Step 4 of 12
Fold and pin pleats on front and back skirt pieces. Baste in place.

Step 5 of 12
Iron interfacing to two of the waistband pieces.

Pin waistband pieces with interfacing to the front and back skirt pieces. Sew.

Step 7 of 12
Pin and sew right side seam. Press open.

Step 8 of 12
Sew zip into left seam and sew remaining seam closed. Press open.

Step 9 of 12
Sew the remaining two waistband pieces together at one seam. Press seam open.

Step 10 of 12
Pin the waistband facing to the front waistband, right sides together. Sew, clip curves fold over and press.
Sew stitch waistband down.
Do the same for the hem facing but sewing both side seams together then pinning to the hem, right sides facing. Sew, fold under and press then sew facing down.

Finished skirt. Excuse the lack of lighting, this photo was taken at night before i spiced it up.

All spiced up!
I added lace and ribbon to the hem and crocheted some flowers from thread and added buttons with some chain stitch. I haven't added the seed beads, i didn't think it needed them.
