This is the last of three mini-tutorials on making Sidonie á la Chanel, my variation on the free BurdaStyle Sidonie pattern. In this final tutorial, you will learn how to make the detachable belt which will be inserted through the openings on the side seams of the skirt and fastened to the belt facing.

    Select some rings (or links) for your belt design. I couldn't find anything suitable in my local fabric store, so looked through an assortment in my "stash" that I had previously ordered off of eBay.

About 2/3 yard of 1/2" organza ribbon

Chain links or rings

4" long remnant of 1" grosgrain ribbon

2 Velcro closures, snaps or small (1/2") flat buttons
