Mock French Seams (2047 Views)

This seam finish is easier than French seams when dealing with a curved seam. Shoulders and armholes can be bound with "Seams great" and all inside will look very neat

    thinking about a skirt

Hi Glayla, look at step2 picture: the seam allowances are together and the pieces are out of the way, edgestitch them like this. Then press to one side. I am sorry this was not clearer.

Thank you for this! I didn't even know I was looking for it. I stopped working on a project today because I didn't want to french-seam a curved seam, and now I am not worried at all.

trying to make some pants fit

Got it! Sewing the actual seam line first avoid the curved seam being distorted. Very savvy, thanx!

Great idea...thanks for sharing. This makes the inside as neat as the finished outside. Can't go wrong with this.
