  Step 1 of 5

  First ask the person who will be wearing the jeans to put on a pair of shoes that they would typically wear with these jeans. Start folding the fabric in the leg so that the jeans are at the proper length. Fold by tucking the excess length of fabric above the hem into the leg, from the outside of the jeans. Do this on only one side of the pants.

  Step 2 of 5

  Pin in place so that the fold falls just above the original hem stitches.

  Step 3 of 5

  Measure the intake of the fold. Pin the other leg to match. If the person who will be wearing these has uneven hips, then you might want to pin this leg while they are wearing it as well.

  Step 4 of 5

  Topstitch very close to the fold edge, parallel to the existing hem.

  Now you or your loved one has a freshly hemmed pair of jeans!
