How to make a circular ruffle.

    You will need paper and a pencil. First measure where you want your ruffle to go. My skirt was 53cm across the back. You will make the circumference of your inner circle the same as this. I added 3 cm 'just in case'. To find the diameter of your inner circle divide the circumference by 3.14. You can see in my photo that i have drawn a sliced pizza shape and have marked each 'slice' 9cm.
    I don't have a compass big enough so i improvised by making my own as you can see in the photo.

    Each ruffle is the same size. I started from the bottom attaching each ruffle on top of each other.

    In the picture it really doesn't look as if the ruffles were attached to each other cos you can't see the stitching on the upper ones. What stitch did you use?

    The ruffles are sewn directly onto the skirt in layers using a straight stitch. They are only attached to the back of the skirt.
