  1 cut of fleece; front pattern with stretch left to right

  1 cut of fleece; back pattern with stretch left to right

  2 cuts of fleece; be sure to cut one in reverse side. Stretch is in the width not the length

  2 cuts of fleece; symmetrical pattern you can cut 2 at once. This pattern will be folded lengthwise when sewn; stretch from width

  1 cut of fleece; this pattern should be placed on folded fabric for full width. When assembling the waistband for the hoody it needs to be folded lengthwise. You can also use a ribbing or other stretch fabric with the cuffs and waistband

  sew the hood sections and liner right sides together before assembling them against each other. This will ensure a finished seam for the liner.

  Step 10 of 27

  line up right sides of both fleece and liner of hood. It helps to start with the two top seams just made. Pin these in place and sew only the front edge, not neck section

  turn hood right side out to topstitch the front edge. You can add 2 or 4 seams here for a more finished look

  don't forget to tack that liner into the hood! you can also serge the neck section to keep them together :) Now set this aside to work on the pockets

  line up right sides of pocket fleece and liner; pin and sew only the curve and top parts. The other sides don't need to be finished, that would add unneeded bulk later on

  turn pocket right side out and if you want to show off that liner; turn and pin the curve section to stitch down.

  you can use a straight stitch or serge to connect edges. Repeat these steps with the opposing pocket and set aside with the hood for later

  use a stretch stitch to connect the waistband lengthwise. sew the ends of the waistband together and be sure to keep that seam hidden on the inside when attaching to the rest of the hoodie later

  sew the sleeves to the front & back sections of the hoodie; the back section will seem a bit longer than the front.

  Step 18 of 27

  The fun part of a Raglan sleeve pattern is the shape it takes when only the sleeves are attached! Place the pockets where you want them and be sure to line up the raw edges correctly for zipper and waistband

  Attach the cuffs to the ends of the sleeves. Be sure to fold the cuff with the stretch in the width; you should be sewing through 3 layers

  Next line up the complete sides from waist to cuff, you should see shape now! I usually double stitch here for extra strength

  line up the right sides of the waistband and base of Hoody and pin for sewing. Be sure to use a stretch stitch here and keep that waistband seam lined up with a side seam

  To attach the hood; line up the Hood seam to the middle back of the collar with right sides together and seam on inside. Again a stretch stitch is the best to use here. After attaching the hood you could use a binding to finish the edge or do a fold topstitch (see next step)

  Notice in this image the hood attachment seam is covered by pulling the back section up just a bit and folding the front edge down to finish. I used a zig-zag stitch throughout to flatten the serge seam

  Now you can cut the front starting at the middle of the waistband for a full-zip Hoody. Here I add the zipper, first line up the wrong sides of both garment and zipper. Be sure to line up the pull section with the bottom first.

  Next, flip the zipper so the teeth show at the finished edge and topstitch in place. Mind the pockets to line up!! A zipper is a skill that is only earned. It took me a few times to line up the top, pockets and base.

  I call this one the Traveler Hoody because of the Map print liner. I also think fleece can be cozy and reassuring. This fits a bit big for me, I usually make the smaller size.
