Press princess seams without a tailor's ham (4728 Views)

You've got a curved seam, but no tailor's ham! How do you press your seam open ?

    If you need to press a curved princess seam, you can use the curved edge of your ironing board to press the seam allowances flat. Just clip the curve, then fit the fit around the edge and hold your iron at about 45 degrees along the edge of the board.

    Cool! My ironing board is more pointy at the end than yours but i'm sure with a little manipulation this would be a better way than trying to iron it on the flat of the board.

    Nikki, mine's just a substandard IKEA ironing board so I thought it must be the normal shape. I hadn't realised there were variations!
