    Step 1 of 8

For this project, you'll need four buttons, the kind with shanks on the back (they're your cufflinks, you can make them matching or not, but they should be about the same size for ease of making buttonholes if it's a new project or fitting them in buttonholes if it's a ready-made shirt.) Cut two lengths of wire--8-10 inches should be plenty. Bend one piece of wire in half like this.

As ye sew, so shall ye rip.

Thank you, Sunnyb64. I'm going to take a shot at this for gifts this year. Nehmah

Thanks, Sunnyb64! I have a jewelry making business and have been thinking about branching out into men's accessories for a long time. I do a lot of work with vintage buttons so this is a great find for me. - Mel

    ohmygosh, the pants fit!!!

Moushka-- they were buttons from the stash, pretty sure they originally came from Joann Fabrics though (I forget which brand, but it was one of the major manufacturers that you find in American fabric stores.)
