  Step 1 of 11

  After following the instructions in the in-seam pocket pattern making How To, cut out 4 of your pocket pattern pieces and surge around the edges.

  Step 2 of 11

  Assign 2 coordinating pocket pieces for each side. Pin a pocket piece onto each side of the front piece, with right sides facing, and onto the back piece.

  Step 3 of 11

  Sew along the length of the pocket opening at 3/8" (1 cm)- leaving 5/8" (1.5 cm) unsewn at top and bottom.

  Step 4 of 11

  Press open the seam allowance of each pocket.

• 

  Step 5 of 11

  Turn pocket over the seam allowance so right side is up and press again. Do this for each pocket.

  Step 6 of 11

  Put front and back pieces on top of each other with right sides facing, and pockets on top of one another. Pin along entire side seam as shown.

  Step 7 of 11

  This is how you should pin around the pocket.

  Step 8 of 11

  Sew in one long process along the entire side seam, following the shape around the pocket area.

• 

  Step 9 of 11

  To press the pocket and side seams, make a clip in the back seam allowance at the top and bottom of the pockets.

• 

  Step 10 of 11

  Press seam allowance below and above the pockets flat.

• 

  Step 11 of 11

  Now you've got a smooth, barely visible but immensely useful, inseam pocket!
