Jane altered (4591 Views)

Jane pajamas altered into maternity and nursing wear. The shorts have a lowered front waistband to fit under the bump and the top has a split underneath the bust which fastens with poppers for nursing once baby is born.

In this picture you can see marked in orange where i have made an alteration. This was made so the waistband will sit comfortably underneath my bump rather than bunching up.

thanks again for another nifty how-to! if i'm understanding properly, you don't have to insert a wedge in the front to accommodate the pregnant belly... is that correct? the original Jane pattern has enough space built in already?

    making a father's day present

I had planned to do this but as i said in my column this week my baby brain took over and i forgot to add it in. This tops is ok for now but once my bump gets bigger i will need that extra fabric. For the next pair i will place the lower front pattern piece on the fold of the fabric but at an angle. SO the top corner of the pattern will touch the fold of the fabric but the bottom corner will be about 10cm or so away from the fold. I'd then curve the lower edge towards the fabric fold. See this link for a better description and drawing.
