Easy Princess Cap Sleeves (7170 Views)
Add a easy sleeve to your usual tank top pattern without worrying about easing the sleeve hole of folds!

Step 1 of 9
Begin by cutting a pattern like this, if you are my size (about S). Or, you can trace one of your short sleeves pattern and extend it (make it longer)

Shir the bottom of the sleeve

After admiring how cute the sleeve already look, baste the top of the sleeve, start 2 inches above sleeve bottom.

pull the bottom strand, "ruche" all the way at this point. worry about fitting later.

Pin top center of sleeve to shoulder center. Pin bottom of sleeve about 2 inches( adjust accordingly). Then adjust the folds in between and pin.

There. You will have a sleeve hole left like that.

sew from sleeve view. Remember to check other side before putting under the foot for folds.

Finish the edges of the sleeve hole.

I forgot this was here. I"m so happy it's still up. My little sis was wanting me to make her a raggedy ann costume with this kind of sleeve and I was worried that I was going to have to buy a pattern or at least try to adapt a children's pattern to fit.
