Press the seam allowance to one side.

If you have a serger you can serge the edge, but it is not necessary.
Step 3 of 6

Stitch another line 1/8” from the seam.

It will look like this from the underside.

Press the seam.
Step 6 of 6

The finished double stitched seam will look like this. If you did not serge the extra seam allowance you can now trim it close to the second row of stitching. You can also use a zigzag stitch instead of straight.
