  Step 1 of 23

  Take some old men's shirt's, i mean shirts that are old not shirts from old men, although you could use those if they are willing to part with them! ;-) Mine were donated to me from a friends Mum that had a clear out.

  Step 2 of 23

  Print out your pattern onto recycled paper. Lay the pieces onto your fabric to get the best use of the shirts and cut out.

  Step 3 of 23

  Cut out the collar pieces from your interfacing and iron on.

• 

  Step 4 of 23

  Make sure to add all markings from the pattern to your fabric using a contrasting thread or tailors chalk. Overlock/serge all edges.

• 

  Step 5 of 23

  Make up the collar. If you are unsure how to do this Mirella has made a fantastic How-To that you can check out.

  Step 6 of 23

  Sew darts in front and back pieces, press them to one side. Fold over edges of front opening and sew.

  Step 7 of 23

  Sew front pieces to back at shoulders with right sides facing. Press seams open.

• 

  Step 8 of 23

  Attach collar to main piece.

  It seems i did not photograph this step for some reason. If anyone would like a step by step leave me a comment and i'll sort one out.

  Step 9 of 23

  Baste between dots twice on sleeves.

• 

  Step 10 of 23

  Make the slit in the bottom of your sleeve. Open the slit as you see in the photo. Pin the binding right side facing the right side of the sleeve.

  Step 11 of 23

  Fold binding over to the wrong side of the sleeve and stitch.

• 

  Step 12 of 23

  Fold binding in half and stitch diagonally across top on the wrong side.

• 

  Step 13 of 23

  Fold pleats and baste.

• 

  Step 14 of 23

  Sew side seams of sleeves.

• 

  Step 15 of 23

  Sew cuff to sleeve and fold over 1/4 inch on bottom.

• 

  Step 16 of 23

  Fold cuff with interfacing on outside and stitch side seams, clip corners and turn right side out.

• 

  Step 17 of 23

  Top stitch around cuffs.

• 

  Step 18 of 23

  Set sleeves into blouse making sure to line up correctly and gather evenly. Stitch in place and press seams towards the sleeves.

  Step 19 of 23

  Sew in button holes on right side of blouse.

• 

  Step 20 of 23

  Sew buttons onto left side of blouse. I used the buttons from one of the old shirts.

• 

  Step 21 of 23

  Close up of collar and cuffs. I used a scrap of gorgeous fabric from my stash to make them stand out.
