Step 1 of 6
Step 1: With your fabric ready, create your 6 x 4 inch template. This can be done with matte or museum board or even the side of a cereal box.
-
Step 2 of 6
Step 2: Trace and cut out 4 pieces of the fabric.
-
Step 3 of 6
Step 3: Take 2 of the pieces and with each, fold wrong sides together lengthwise. Iron both pieces making a crisp fold. These two sections create the opening of the cozy.
-
Step 4 of 6
Step 4: Get your last two panels and place their wrong sides together. Then place your folded sections on top of these aligning the corners and with the fold in the middle. Pin in place.
-
Step 5 of 6
Step 5: Sew a 3/8 inch seam all around. Trim corners and edges. Flip inside out and push the corners out then iron.
-
Step 6 of 6
Step 6: Add your tissues!

Thanks for the pattern. What a difference vibrant bold patterns make when doing a simple cozy.
Yes, I would like the instructions for this item. My 82 yr old mother uses her shopping bags for trash. Just the right amount of weight of waste for her to carry to the trash room.
thank you & God Bless
I sort of had a question, I just made one of these, but when I pull a tissue out, all of the tissues come out =/ Do I need to buy smaller tissues to stuff in this?
I made one of these --added a button and elastic cording for closure :-)
I like to make the sides overlap a bit so less chance of tissues coming out all at once.
