Hi Nikkishell- nice work! Couple of questions- can you provide tips on how to make the alterations without having to first make a muslin of the first Steffi alteration? Is it just a matter of freehand drawing the pieces you show in steps 2 and 3, or are there more changes necessary? Also, when you say "recycled denim," are you using denim that's been created from recycled cotton fiber or did you reappropriate an old denim garment? If it's the former, do you have an online source for recycled fabrics? Thanks for your help!
Hi Elainemay, it's just a matter of freehand sketching the pieces that i show in steps 2 and 3 if you don't want to make a muslin. I do recommend that you do though, even if it's just the front and back without the sleeves and collar as you can then alter it to fit your body shape. Use an old bedsheet for your muslin making rather than calico, i only used calico as it was spare in my stash. The denim is a piece of scrap fabric i found at the thrift store, i find most of my fabrics this way or use old garments if there's enough fabric in them, like i did with my Franzi creation. I don't have any online sources for recycled fabric, maybe Ebay? I prefer to buy locally and support my local businesses. Hope this helps, don't hesitate to ask more questions. :)
Thanks for the answers! I'd probably make a muslin, but I didn't want to have to make a muslin for the first version of the altered Steffi and then cut that down to make the second version :) Thanks for the info about fabric as well.
