While creating BurdaStyle, we were captivated by the open source philosophy: the sharing of intellectual property and allowing the public to adapt it to their specific needs. We assimilated the concept to BurdaStyle, removing the copyright from our patterns. Our open source sewing patterns are free to be used as a base for your own design. Whatever you sew, you can sell if you like. We believe that removing copyrights from our designs will inspire creativity and spawn multiple new designs - and that's wonderful!

When you choose Burda Quality Patterns, you choose fifty years of pattern making expertise. Burda has developed an effective and easy-to-use system that makes your sewing easier and your garments better.

Developed for the average woman’s, Burda Quality Patterns assure high fitting accuracy. Seams and darts are strategically located to allow easy adjustment, and by following the size chart, you can personalize the patterns to get your perfect fit.

Over the years, Burda has refined the labeling system used on all their patterns. Quick and easy to learn, this system simplifies pattern modifications and helps you sew up your garments smoothly. Further facilitating the construction process, each pattern comes with illustrated step-by-step instructions.

Burda Quality Patterns are available for all difficulty levels. Choose ones best suited for your level of experience. Print these patterns at home or a copy shop and get started right away!

1.Select “Join Now” in the upper right hand corner of the homepage.

2.Fill in the required information, and then select “submit.” You should receive an email asking you to follow a link to confirm. Should that email not arrive, check your junk mail folder. If it is not there, please contact us.

3.Once you have registered you may:

a. Continuously update and change your personal information

b. Personalize your account with personal statements, banners, and avatars.

c. Upload sewing creations.

d. Upload “How Tos.”

e. Download/upload patterns.

f. Store your individual size dimensions.

g. Keep track of your favorite members, Creations, Patterns, and How Tos.
