Official Rules OFFICIAL RULES FOR BURDASTYLE Sewalong MiniChallenge NO PURCHASE NECESSARY 1. Promotion Description: The BURDASTYLE Sewalong MiniChallenge (the “Contest”) begins on December 1, 2007 at 12:01:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on March 17, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Promotion Period”). At the end of the Promotion Period, all entries will be entered into a survey-voting tool and all registered members of BurdaStyle.com may vote for their favorite creation. A total of 1 winner will have been be selected from all eligible entries during each day of the Promotion Period. By participating in the Contest, each entrant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of BurdaStyle (the “Sponsor”) which shall be final and binding in all respects. 2. Eligibility: Only persons over the age of eighteen (18) years as of the date of entry who are located in and legal residents of the United States (excluding Arizona) or other jurisdictions in which the contest is legally permissible at the time of entry are eligible to enter. Employees of Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies, and their immediate family members or persons living in the same household are not eligible. The Contest is void where prohibited. 3. How to Enter: You need to be a registered member to take part. • You must use the Sidonie skirt pattern. • You must upload your creation into the new ‘Mini Challenge’ category by March 17th. • When you upload your creation you must give a detailed description of how you made your version of the skirt, the alterations you may have made and materials used etc. • How-to’s and pattern alterations are encouraged and may earn you Brownie points! General Submission Acceptance Conditions: Potential winners will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and Prize Acceptance Form (collectively, the “Prize Claim Documents”). If a winner fails or refuses to sign and return the Prize Claim Documents within fourteen days of prize notification, the winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected from among the remaining eligible entries. Prizes are not transferable and not assignable. The winner shall be solely responsible for all taxes and fees or costs associated with the prize, including but not limited to any federal or state or other income tax. Release: Acceptance of a prize constitutes the prize winner’s permission for Sponsor to use prize winner’s name for advertising and/or promotional purposes worldwide and in all forms of media in perpetuity without further compensation or authorization. In addition, acceptance of a prize constitutes the prize winner’s permission and consent for BurdaStyle to reproduce, publish, distribute, prepare derivative works of, sell, or otherwise use or make commercial use of any designs or patterns submitted by the prize winner in connection with his or her entry into the Contest, which permission and consent shall be irrevocable and subsist in perpetuity, without further compensation or authorization. Entrants agree that Sponsor and its affiliates, and their officers, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the Sponsoring Entities”), shall not be responsible for any losses, damages or injuries of any kind resulting from participation in the Contest or from entrants’ acceptance or receipt of any prize. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who is found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, to be acting in violation of these Official Rules, or who otherwise takes actions that do or are intended to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest. Governing Law: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of New York without regard to the choice of law provisions thereof.
