Hello Im new here.I wanted to ask a question, does anyone use centermeters when dress making?I like using cm's but having a hard time working out the pleats on a yoke front blouse. My pattern fronts measure across,24.5cm to the placket front edge,I want 2 pleats in front. This is not a store bought pattern.I need to measure and mark the pleating area .Any advice appreciated.Thank you. :)
Canuk. I think I understand what you would like to do: Add pleats to an existing pattern? If you would like to check out a tutorial on how to add pleating to an existing pattern try THIS link.
If the existing pattern does not have pleats you should add the width of the pleats combined to your pattern. THIS how-to shows you how to sew pin tucks. Please let me know if this helps, I am still unsure of your exact question.
I'm new here too. I currently design handbags but I have sewn number of clothing items as well. I am hooked on Project Runway and would love to own several body forms and get going on creating my own artistic designs. Any advice to start off?
rubyellen-Be sure to check out the Threads.com website. Just last week a came across an article on how to make 3 inexpensive body double dressforms with supplies you purchase from a hardware store or hobby store. Hope this helps! :)

thats a link on "how to make duct tape dressforms"
i would recomend making them with duct tape rather than purchasing dressforms...youll save alot of money this way...the duct tape dressforms do take a longer time then buying them, but again youll save some money this way
