Leggings!

It would be great if a pattern for leggings appeared on the site as they're so versatile - a blessing on a cold day! In the shops they're either overpriced or only in black and white. Help!

I know about the free pattern of tights over here Shelby Kaava Vuokatti Tights so maybe it is useful

I made the Shelby Kaava Vuokatti tights and I really like the pattern (though I had trouble piecing it together). I used a VERY stretchy knit so they can be clingy but comfortable. I also found that, if you want low-waisted leggings, the pattern's waist is high enough that you can just turn it down to make a casing for elastic, rather than adding a band to the top.

Thank you so much! I will definitely make plenty. Also I have seen in Toast catalogue churidar trousers (www.toast.co.uk) - they seem to be a great alternative to leggings! I have looked for a pattern everywhere but so far with no luck... Maybe one of you have seen something similar somewhere?

I just spent quite a while searching for churidar patterns and found nothing. However, I think one could play with the Anita skinny-pant pattern here on burdastyle to get some churidar-like trousers. One could: eliminate the fly and pockets; use a very lightweight material; lengthen the leg a lot; make sure it isn't skintight like most of the Anita creations (maybe go up a size?); cut on the bias (Wikipedia told me churidars are bias-cut). Nataszan, you have totally inspired me. I don't know if this would work, but I really want to try!

I can't wait either! Please do post the finished creation here. I will go today to get some suitable fabric. Good luck!
