I have old singer EF718202 with drop in bobbin which doesnt use pedal but u press the stick with ur knee. recently after I cleaned and oiled, it doesnt sew anymore. maybe I moved something n don't know how to put it back properly. the needle bar and the wheel moves normally but no stiches. . also start with the upper thread doesnt want to grab the lower thread. I turn the wheel toward me, the upper thread n the needle goes down but then come back up without grabing the lower thread. oh boy..
any advice will appreciate. thank u
Hi Krunamagiar. I don't know much about how machines work but we have an antique Singer machine too that operates with a knee lever.(Model 66) I have instruction booklets (dated 1930!) which I could scan and send to you if that would help.
ow dear.. you are so kind. I do have a booklet (sewing machine 201K). but it doesnt mention anything about what to do when no stitches create... thank u anyway
make sure the needle was put back in the right way when you replaced it- if it's facing the wrong way it won;t pick up the thread, and might damage your machine if you try to sew.
YAHOOOOOOO!!!! REALLY SPECIAL THANKS TO EMILY KATE!!! I put the needle in incorrect way, i think I must had confused with the other (newest) sewing machine. but THANK U SO MUCH for all you guys... YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! you have no idea how I couldnt sleep at night thinking bout my 201K didnt work.

did you do anything differently than usual to the bobbin area?
try rethreading and redoing the bobbin.

ooh, good one. i also find that if i don't thread the bobbin on my 221 correctly, it refuses to sew, just a mess of thread from underneath.
