For the month of February we will be working on JJ's fabulous ruffle blouse . Post here to let us all know what plans you have for your version, your fabric choice and alterations you may make etc. Feel free to ask questions and advice from other members. Happy sewing!!!
I'll be making mine out of a sunshine yellow handkerchief-weight linen. I don't think I'll be making any alterations to the pattern. It's so great as-is!
I will be making the ruffled blouse hopefully this weekend. I pieced the pattern together the other night and I have been excited to make it since I first saw it posted. I have a green/purple and a little yellow paisley print on a cream background that I was going to use for another pattern, but as I have a couple blouses like that already, I decided to try sonething new. I can't wait to get started. Too many projects so little time. Too bad I have to work for a living and can't just stay home and sew.
I have a question. I have a hard time buying button up blouses as I have a bigger bust (38C) and wider shoulders. Usually I end up buying XL or XXL so that there isn't any gaping between buttons. How should I cut out this pattern? Should I use the finished measurements to determing the size I should cut out or would that be asking for trouble? I have my fabric all prewashed and ready to go. It is a little childish I guess but when the pattern was posted I could think of no other fabric that would do. It is red with a small pattern of children playing on it. I'll post a picture of it as soon as I can.
i am thinking on making the sewalong too - my fist choise is a navy blue cotton with two options of buttons. but i think i will use the flower ones for another blouse...a black one.
i am thinking of making the sewalong too. sounds like fun! for now i choose a navy blue cotton (got meters of it as a present) and 2 options of buttons - i think i will use the flower ones for a black blouse though...
Mine is navy blue too but print with white. I bought this fabric
9 years ago, sort of quilt type fabric, no fray at all, not so good
for the blouse but I want to get rid of stash.
I think I'd like to do this, too. I'm going to the fabric store after work! This will be mt very first top, so I'm going to need all the support I can get!
I've got some fabric in my stash that is aching to be JJ - I bought it (as with most of my fabric) without anything in mind. I think it was woven just for JJ. It is beige with white polka dots and the scattered randomly little squares of navy and purples ( like little tetris pieces). I'll be cutting it out later today!
Hi,
I am a newbie and I'd love to participate. The link to the blouse and the pattern is broken. I looked under JJ's profile but couldn't find it. Is there somewhere else I should look?
Thanks,
Kris
