Do you agree with the judges or do you think someone else should have won? or been out?

I agree with the judges and think that the lady they let go may have been too extreme for the competition. She really did miss the mark. Of course, I could be totally wrong because it was the first time I ever watched the show. I have been cable free for years. :)

Did you guys catch the all stars PR? I didn’t agree with who they picked for that one, but I love Korto!

I totally agree, I felt her collection was better then Daniel’s and that she ultimately should have won! He restaurant dress was GORGEOUS!

I have to say that I thought the judges had a difficult decision to make as none of the dresses seemed red carpet worthy. There were some beautiful designs and fabrics but to choose a winner must have been very difficult. Out of what was made the did choose the better of the bunch and eliminated the least qualified.
As for the PR All Stars, I have always liked Daniels designs but felt that Korto and Sweet P had better collections over all. I loved the fabrics that Chris used however I thought that all of his designs were bulky and he should have added a splash of color.
Would enjoy hearing other members opinions and you don’t have to agree with each other as everyone has different likes and dislikes. ari, the girl that was cut, was definitely out there. while the guy that was on the chopping block with her really didn’t do much better, at least he tried to present something that resembled evening wear (though that was a hot mess too)
did anyone watch the PR model show too? it was sort of interesting, but not as good to me.

I agree, I think she really wanted to show her point of view, but missed the most important rule – meet the brief. You could see though that she was kicking herself for it afterwards and I felt sad for her, but on the other hand, I’m surprised she didn’t understand this before starting. That said, I didn’t really love any of the dresses other than Louise’s and the winning design (but I liked Louises more).
I was intrigued by the model show, then I watched it and really it’s interesting but not enough to make me watch it again. I really hated the elimination spoiler and so will avoid it for that reason as I’d rather see it as part of PR.

I was kinda annoyed when when Tim Gunn said Sweat P’s stuff was looking “home-made” as if that was a bad thing. If that had been me, I would have had a hard time not saying something sassy right back. Tim is normally very constructive with his critiques so it’s disappointing to hear him say things that promote a narrow minded, negative view of home sewing.
I really liked Korto’s restaurant dress also. It was definitely the best extra challenge, but her red carpet dress was kinda blah when compared to it. Daniel’s red carpet dress was smoking hot and perfect for the Nine premiere… I think that is ultimately why he won.

OK, on second reflection I liked Eppersons, great shape and workmanship. Irina’s was OK (but how many times have we seen that exact same dress) Johnny’s was nice but missed terribly on the colour, Althea’s bodice front was nice but the rest was awful, Carol’s was bleh… There seems to be a large contingency of cutsey girls this time around.

Did you watch Project Runway Aug. 27,2009? I have to say that the maternity wear did not turn out so great and I thought that Mitchell should have been eliminated based on poor fit- again, poor construction again and poor overall presentation again. I believe that Malvin, who did get eliminated, had more to offer in later challenges. However, I did like the winner, Shirin, adorable mommy to be outfit and thought this was truly the most wearable. What do you think?

I was OK with the pass Mitchell got on the first show, figuring it was the measurement mismatch that messed him up. But then not to be able to sew decently in the very next challenge? Please. He’d better get his ass handed to him next week if he doesn’t improve.
I do agree with the judges choosing Shirin’s outfit. It was flattering and the coat made it enough not like an evening gown. It was boring to see more evening gowns after last weeks challenge.

I totally agree Mitchell should have been the one to go. I do believe that Malvin has greater potential to grow and understand himself and what people really want. His abilities out weigh Mitchell by far. I can not believe he was on the chopping block twice and did not get booted. I feel bad for his model I would be so embarrassed to walk down the runway in what he makes. I loved Christopher’s I thought should have been in the top three but did miss the mark on form fitting. I thought that Iran’s dress was adorable. And of course I like Shirin, Best thought process and was the most wearable.

i think Malvin’s would have turned out better if it wasn’t so literal. if he had made the “egg” part tone on tone black with the feathers, maybe it would have worked a bit better. the contrast between the “egg” and the rest of it was what turned me off.
really all Mitchell needed to do to make those shorts better in a small amount of time was to put some pleats in the bottom hem and make the leg more fitted. still wouldn’t be fantastic, but at least they would have looked like shorts instead of a silly skirt-thing. but really, he started out with so much fabric, what did he think it was going to turn into? he has to come up with something utterly fabulous to make it next round.
i think that Ra’mon had an interesting idea with the color block for a slimming effect, however the gray color he picked as a accent killed it. he should have used another shade of purple there.
