OMG, you are just like me. I am currently 18 yrs old and going to school to become a fashion design. I have some of the same worries because, if you check the stats of fashion designer it says that it is a 1% hiring rate. I have talked to other people who went to school for fashion and most of them said to start small and work your way up in the bussiness.I have been doing my research and some other options to make money as a fashion designer, is being a personal sewing instructor and they make a lot of money because people are willing to pay money for the one on one learning experience. You could also start a tailoring business. There are so many options than a basic fashion designer.
A blog is a great idea but not to sell clothes( personal advise). You should blog about your experiece to become a fashion designer. If you want to sell your work, you shold sell it on etsy. A lot of designers sell thier clothes there. make sure you advertise your etsy so that your designs will get known.
