What do you consider good fabrics? For what kind of sewing-dressy occasions, career wear, home decor? Kind of need those parameters made clear to provide suggestions. I concur with arisaid-location (i.e. continent, country) is needed to provide relevant leads.

Marsha, I so feel your pain! I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and only have Joann and Hancocks also along with some great quilting shops. It;s so hard to find updated current fabrics. It seems most fabrics in the stores are about 20 years behind. I looked all over to try to find a fabric similar to one of the children’s christmas dresses that was a dark charcoal ribbed stretch material. Couldn’t find anything close. I really hesitate to order online because i want to be able to see and feel the material. Sorry, I am not helpful, but I can sympathize with you!
