I am going to make up this http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/belted-coat-122012 in a wool boucle that has quite a wide weave. I want to make it for winter so will need to underline it as well as line it. What fabrics would be suitable for this? I am wanting some warmth but don’t want to lose the drape of the wool.

All depends on the weight of the boucle. Clearly a fine cotton batiste works well for most wools. If you are looking for warmth a light weight flannelette is frequently used in coating.

Thanks for your reply. I had thought of a flannelette but can’t find any plain colours. Can anyone recommend somewhere online?
