hi,
the store they have on project runway is called mood and they are at
225 W 37th St, 3rd floor
New York, NY 10018
Hours:
Mon-Fri 9-7
Sat 10-4
i love mood, they are my favorite fabric store. there are tons of other fabrics stores, most between 37th and 40th street, between 7th and 8th avenue. there is also b&j fabrics
Home
B&J Fabrics 525 7th Avenue (corner of 38th street), New York, NY, 10018 P:212-354-8150 Hours: M-F 8am-5:45pm Sat 9am-4:45pm
that’s where they went on “the fashion show” i find it a little pricey and last time i went in there i got yelled at for climbing up on a ladder.
i also like elegant fabrics on 40th street.
for ribbons m&j is awesome if a little pricey, but they have everything you ever dreamed of and more
1008 Sixth Avenue
Between 37th & 38th Sts.
good luck!

Yeah, what smyphotography said…I go to Mood for inspiration and to NY Elegant or B&J if I want something specific.
I also love all the little shops on 39th between 7th and 8th. (Chic Fabrics) There are some great bargains to be had if you are willing to shop around. The difference in dollars spent can be substantial $$.
If you are looking for trim and sewing notions, 38th and 39th St (between 7th & 8th) have the all the items I ever need; Panda, Pacific Trim, Steinloff and Stoller, Daytona Trim, Vhardmanns etc…
