Hi,
I’ve just been looking around online for thread – just normal everyday all-purpose sewing thread for “everyday” clothes I make for myself, and occassional quilts/crafts. Gutermann is obviously the main brand out there, but I wondered if people had ever used non-branded thread which is, literally, 10 or 20% of the cost of Gutermann.
Is it good/ok/terrible? Obviously, there’s no point saving money if it’s just going to cause me anguish!
Thanks!
Emma.

I don’t use anything but Gutermann. I won’t even put Coats thread through my sewing machine anymore because it left a lot of lint on my buttonhole foot (what might it be doing to the inside of my machine?). There is probably a reason for the price of the thread.
