Hi everyone (I hope I am posting this topic in the right category now!)
I know this is a popular pattern (I have seen some gorgeous version on this site!) and I love it too and am just tracing my pattern but – I can’t work out what the instructions mean when they say:-
“The button holes of piece 1 and 3 are marked according to size 34. For the bigger sizes, mark the buttonhole and stitch lines the same length to the front centre as size 34”.To me this could mean the bigger sizes have the same button hole position as the 34 (I’m making a 40). But I don’t think this is right. . .or does this mean that the position is relative to the side seam? Meaning that if the 34 buttonhole is 1 & 1/2 inches in from the 34 side seam, therefore the 40 buttonhole would be 1 & 1/2 inches in from the 40 side seam. .. . I’ve got myself into a real dither about this and I am a stickler for accuracy – yet, obviously – I’m not all that smart!!!
Any suggestions would be fab! Thanks!

Thanks so much for your help Kate! – you’re a Sweetie-Pie. I am quite good at sewing, but when it comes to pattern drafting/adjusting I am totally clueless xxxxxxx

Don’t fret. The only silly question is the one you don’t ask. :)
Burdastyle instructions can be minimalist to the point of obscurity, too, which doesn’t help.
