This is kind of a weird question, but has anyone ever found a tape that sticks well to cotton? (maybe you accidentally got some tape stuck and have had a hard time getting it off?) I want to reinforce my seams on a garment by taping off all the major seams – it’s for a film and I will not be on location with them to make any repairs – so I thought that taping might help distribute some of the force and stress put on the thread during the course of the shoot. While I’m testing some tapes, I thought I’d see if anyone had found anything to be useful!
Thanks!

Depending on the garment and tne fabric I like to top stitch seams to reinforce them, like on jeans. Use matching thread so it isn’t visable.

Yep, most of the seams are reinforced in that manner, but there are a few that are not and where the piece stands right now, I can’t get back in there with my sewing machine (the underside of the arm, for example) and thus want to tape it. Plus, I need something that will work if a seam should pop while on location!
Thanks though!

Try a woven fusible interfacing cut to fit on the inside. And next time, tape the seams! ;) (BTDT: you might as well learn from my mistake!)
