i’d like to make a maxi pleated skirt out of chiffon with tons of knife pleats all round. http://dimg.dillards.com/is/image/DillardsZoom/03617588_zi?$c7product$
so i was wondering…
it would be easier to pleat chiffon if i stiffen it with starch,making it similar in consistence to cotton or similar fabric that holds folding and pleating easily. does it make sense or once i wash for the first time my skirt it will loose all the pleats?
have you some advice on how to speed up the pleating process and eventually make it easier?

    Hi, your link doesn’t work but if you are wanting to make a maxi with narrow pleats all around (like a sunburst style) these are pleated professionally. You would have to look online to find someone near you. Usually, it is recommended that you use a polyester chiffon since this holds the pleat much better than a natural fabric like silk.
