I am new to pattern draping and am uncertain where the location of the side seam is on the dress form. Is it at the start of the diagonal thick stiches? Or would I ignore the stiches and simply drape on where the fabric of front and back of the dress form at connected?

I would think it is where the stitches start; I don’t have a dress-form but if I did, that would be what I would do.
