I am a novice sewer but I enjoy it and am also a homeschool mom. I offered to teach a sewing class to kiddos 4-6th graders currently has mostly girls and 2 boys. Ive only worked with my girls at home, but would love some ideas about teaching new sewers and maxed out to 10 kids. I would love some professional input
I definitely would need to pair them up to work together and each class is only an hour once a week
Thank you

I know people that teach a children’s class… they start teaching the children hand sewing before anything else. A little doll or something similar. Also button sewing etc. They supplies all the fabrics, so they pick small items that don’t require a lot. I also know another teacher who teaches teens, and she starts them off with a pillowcase, moves onto simple patterns she picked out herself, and then moves onto patterns the children pick out.

The kids are usually different ages and have different levels of comprehension and skills, so everyone is at a different stage, requiring the teacher to move from person to person, with instructions just for that particular person.
