I am working on a new steampunk outfit and am going with a long fishtail skirt. I really like the ruching on this http://pinterest.com/pin/533465518330754856/ . My question is- how slimming is it? I am a bit pear shaped and want something flattering to my figure. The entire outfit will be a bit more on the industrial style side of steampunk. I want it to be pretty, but I do not want to just fall back on ruffles to make my lower half interesting.

I say go for it! I think that skirt is really cool and it won’t matter that much what shape you are :)

I’m pear shaped and have a skirt similar to this and find it really slimming. Ruffles would add size I think. Go for it
