Are you taking about the ones Christopher made? They look like they were made from a fabric that wouldn’t frey , such as a light weight vinyl, fleece, or tee shirt knit. I’ve made organza petals out of polyester organza by using a wood burning tool with an exacto attachment.

Lots of different fabrics, from organza through to wool doeskin, by the looks of them. Depends on the garment. The sheer ones look like silk organza.
You need to design in plenty of seams for the petals to be sewn into.
