I wondered if anyone knew of a pattern for a strapless dress that has a bra-like top? I want to re-create a dress I saw in Zara – couldn’t find a picture of it, but this is the shape I’m after :

I’ve looked everywhere for something similar but have yet to find one :( any help would be greatly appreciated!

I did think of that, yes, but I wanted something with a more solid shape if that even makes sense! Thanks for the suggestion though :)

It should be easy enough to trim that one off at waist level and add a skirt. Or just make as a top and make a separate skirt. Then you can wear them together and look like a dress, or each separately and have twice the glam in your wardrobe for the price! :)

what about using the tea top pattern (or any that has the right shape) and sewing in bra cups/an old bra? that and boning the crap out of it, would give it a more solid look and feel.
good luck, and keep us posted!

Ooh forgot I’d posted this ha!
Just wanted to say that the Contour Bust Tutorial seems to work well if you want one without boning! Will try the actual bodice pattern in future for certain though :)
