Hello there,
I am desperately trying to find some free 1940s dress patterns that I can order (free) or download.
I’m looking for dresses in sizes uk 12 (not sure what that is in EU – maybe 38/40 and not sure in US/CA sizes, sorry).
Anyone know any good links?

try the vintage pattern lending library (vpll.org i believe). they have a great catalog of patters from the 1900’s through the 50’s/60’s.
you can also try antique shops and ebay. most vintage patterns are only one size to an envelope, so go with the size that best matches your measurements. oh, the sizes may be numbered differently form company to company, so check the measurements of each pattern.
