you are stitching the front to the back at not only the shoulder seams, but the neckline as well (the front piece has the collar attached to it). make sure you have clipped the corners on the center front piece. then match center seam on the front with the center seam on the back, and the end of the shoulder seams first. continue to match the shoulder seam moving in towards the middle, then ease the necklines together (this is why clipping that inside corner is important, if you didn’t, the neckline on the front wouldn’t have enough give). carefully stitch.
