I am a vintage enthusiast and love clothing with a retro look. After alot of failed attempts and wasted money on vintage patterns and material, I have made the decision to look for a seamstress who would be willing to make me some outfits, as I am truely crap! I also work full time and it makes it difficult for me to fit crafting in around work.
I would provide the patterns, money for material and an agreed fee, in return for someone to make me some fantastic repro vintage pieces.
If anyone is interested, please contact me and give me an indication of how much your fee would be!
Please help me!!

Where are you? This is an international forum, and we come from all over the worl. If you are in Japan or Australia, someone in the USA or here in the UK might not be your best bet, as you need to be close enough to see your dressmaker for tittings. Don’t buy fabric or patterns until after your initial consultation, either: pattern sizes are NOT the same as Ready to Wear sizes, and vintage patterns are VERY different in size! Have a look at my page about getting the best from your dressmaker: http://www.diceyhome.free-online.co.uk/KatePages/HowToGet/how_to_get_the_best_from_you_dre.htm

Good evening – I am also interested in Retro designs ( as you can see by my studio ). I note that you live in Leeds – I am resident in Cleveleys , Lancs. As a former teacher of Dress and Design I could offer you support in your own work— otherwise the act of finding/ using a dressmaker will prove quite expensive should you require a variety of styles. We could work together with the aid of e-mails, phone calls and Skype – does that sound like a good idea ? You would derive so much pleasure from wearing garments that you have created yourself !!!!!
