try googling vintage patterns there are quite a few good sites but sizing has changed quite a bit so check body measurement on pattern before purchasing

There is a range of Retro patterns ( by Butterick ). Some styles like full or circular skirts do not require a pattern. I am sure there is a skirt on Burda style called Linda skirt. The retro patterns give up-to-date sizing as Vintage patterns were styled for the women’s shape then. Try also http://wkdesigner.wordpress.com/?s=skirts and other designs there too. Look back through the projects here use key words to search. like 50’s Rock n roll, retro etc try this http://www.vintagesewing.info/index.html and http://thesewingdivas.wordpress.com

Hi there. I did know where to put this question but here it goes. I need help making a simple cloth petticoat, my daughter and I both love dressing in gothic lolita and I have attempted to make petti’s before but they did not turn out the way I wanted. Any help with this would be lovely.

    Thanks for the help. Grimgirl101

I have just found the website with the 50’s style petticoat instructions. It is www.petticoatpond.com/. Looks like a great pattern but seems to use a lot of ribbon. Maybe give this one a go though. x
