A number of Burda projects require Lodden Cloth, I am in Australia and I can’t find it anywhere or online. Does anyone know where it is available?

It’s basically just a waterproof coarse(ish)wool fabric. http://www.myfabrics.co.uk/Fabrics/Apparel-Fabrics/Loden-Fabrics.htm?shop=fabfab_e&SessionId=&a=catalog&t=30&c=289&p=289 has it for sale but haven’t checked if they ship it. It’s not because you’re spelling it wrong is it that means you can’t find it? I’d have thought australia would have all kinds of wool available, or maybe it’s named differently there? There’s only 1 d in it though, just in case that’s the problem

I think it’s felted wool. I can’t find it as loden in America either. But from what I understand it’s very popular in Germany.

You may be able to substitute boiled wool if you can’t find real loden.

Loden cloth is produced in Austria – traditionally to provide robust, hardwearing, protective and warm trousers for climbing. An alternative would be a felted type of wool — (not loosely woven) or a “blazer” cloth.?
