Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with directions and materials needed to line a fur collar.
I have an old unlined mink collar which I want to attach to a cape that I just finished sewing, but it’s completely unlined on the backside. Any ideas, advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

This is definitely a good start. They don’t mention any interfacing of any kind, just a lining. In your experience, is that so? I don’t need to add bulk to the collar. It’s already a good thickness.

Sorry did not notice that. You can use a hair canvas or medium weight interfacing, steam press or shrink before attaching to fur with hand stitches. Should not add bulk or stiffness just enough to support the collar’s shape.
Found another link please notice this is for faux fur: http://blog.caseybrowndesigns.com/2010/11/vintage-flair-make-a-faux-fur-collar/
Let me know if this helps !!

Thank it perfect, Patti!! Thank you so much. Exactly what I was looking for. I will just sew the thing by hand instead of machine since it’s real fur (and quite old).
