I bought a remnant of linen fabric, which has an autumnal print on it (leafs in browns and orange). Normally I wouldn’t think of wearing linen in autumn/winter, but the print doesn’t feel summery to me at all! I wondered whether anyone with a little more experience than me could see any bad points to using the linen (would it cling to tights?!)…and of course is it a definite fashion no-no?

It might cling to tights, but why not line it for some slither and an extra layer of warmth?
The are no fashion no-no’s these days. Though I might hesitate to wear a fake fur coat in mid summer… ;)

I wear linen all year and I live where it snows and gets down to -20 fahrenheit! It does stick to tights but I wear lined skirts/dresses or I use a slinky slip if there is no lining. And, since lining doesn’t always go all the way to the hem of the skirt, some part of the linen catches and, if walking, can make the skirt turn slowly. I just check every once in a while to make sure the skirt front isn’t facing the side :) Linen looks great with tights, boots, boot socks and big sweaters…I think.
