Hi all,
I am currently entering a design competition and have been instructed to make a garment to an Italian size 40/42. I cannot seem to figure out the correct measurements I should be using however as the guidelines I have been given do not seem to match up to the sizing charts I would usually use. Would anyone know of a measurement chart that would match up to the following sizings, or know how I can calculate the other body measurements I would need to use?
I have been given the following:
Height 177 cm
Chest 89.5 cm
Waist 64cm
Hips 91.5 cm
How can I calculate neck size or shoulder width for example? Would be most grateful of any help!
Thank you!

Was a specific design required? Dress? Suit? Are the measuements for a finished garment?
Use the measurements you were given, cm are used by Italians, they are probably for a specific model/person.
The measurements given are for someone who about is 5’9 1/2’’ tall (that may require some lengths added to few areas depending on type of garment) the rest fall between a few sewing chart sizes this may or may not help:

If your doing a dress maybe make simple sloper using a Dolman or raglan 3/4 sleeve, neckline maybe a slight scoop or bateau this might help a little for not having exact neck or shoulder/sleeve measuements
Hoping others have more suggestions, if not keep asking questions.

Hi there,
http://www.fashionrome.com/sizecharts.php
This is a comparison chart, hoping it can give you a rough idea of what size in other standards are! It’s a about a US 4-6, pretty much standard model size for comps from the look of it!
Hope your entry goes well!
