I have been sewing for many many years and have only just discovered that you can get a foot for your machine called an “invisible zipper foot”. It is fantastic. I have always managed quite well with an ordinary zipper foot, but this special one makes it look so professional. Will use it all the time! Has anybody else tried one?

I get much better results using the big zip foot on my Husqvarna. We’re all different, innit! ;)

I’ve been very happy using an ordinary zipper foot for regular zips, but have found that this “invisible zipper foot” has given me a very professional finish with an invisible zip. Maybe it is my Bernina!

Yeah… I find that the results I get with the little narrow Bernina zip foot are nothing like as good. OK for ‘ordinary’ zips, but not for the concealed sort.

I bought one for my machine not too long ago as most things I made seemed to have invisible zips and I love it. Makes it so much easier to sew them neatly and ‘invisibly’ :-)

Here is a neat tip when using invisible zippers: before sewing, press them out flat first and you will find them easier to sew in. The seams are neater. Try this tip and let me know what you think.

I’ve never found it makes much difference.. What DOES make a difference is machine basting the zip in before sewing the seamline right next to the teeth! I baste about half way between the teeth and the edge of the tape.

i bought this plastic one at my local fabric store and tried it but it doesnt do as good of a job as my singer snap on zipper foot.
