Hi. I’m wanting to make a simple pillowcase-style dress or top for myself. I’ve found patterns and instructions around for children’s sizes, but wondered if anyone had ever made one in an adult size? I’m an Australian size 10, which I think is a US 8.
Thanks

The pillowcase would have to be wider than your hips by at least two inches or more and at least as wide as your bust. If you are bigger then you would need to use two matching pillowcases.
The length matters too. Unless you are small in height, you will not be making a dress, but maybe a tunic or top. If you want a longer dress, you might have to use the pillowcases for the skirt part and add some other fabric to make the top and straps.
You have to decide how you want to the top to be just straight across your chest or gathered. The whole garment must also be able to pull on over your head.
