Hi, Cowls are created by putting all the darts into the neck, then drawing a straight line from the inside (neck side) of the shoulder to the other neck side of the shoulder. To finish it off – measure another straight line about 15 cm parallel with the first straight line (the line made from shoulder to shoulder), fold the pattern over (on the line from shoulder to shoulder) and cut along the shoulder. This extra fabric at the top is the facing. The wider the cowl the wider the facing needs to be.

    Goodluck
