I would like to know how to turn a basic coat sloper into a swing coat design. Does this mean I have to slash the pattern, Pivot to add space between, then cut on a bias?

I would appreciate any answers, I’ve searched everywhere and the info seems impossible to find. Any suggestions?

The more detailed the response, the better. Thanks!

Yes, exactly that. You can keep the center back and front on the straight grain. Trace off the pattern, without seam allowances, draft out the darts, and slash and spread in five or six places from the shoulder line… True up the shoulder seam, then trace off and add in the seam allowances.
