I do lots of weddings and I keep getting stuck with bridesmaids that have sway backs and their zippers bubble in the back. What is the best way to fix this problem?

If there is a seam across the waist, you can take in a bit from the centre back waist, tapering off to nothing at the side waist. If there is no waist seam, you may have to create one.

are you super sure you’re not accidentally stretching the fabric as you sew in the zipper? Easy to do, especially if you’re not using a walking foot.

you can also “cheat” a little by deliberately taking a tiny tuck in the zipper tape (by hand) every 2 or 3 inches along the length that puckers (before you insert the zipper). this will make the zipper curl slightly in the other way before you insert it, and may offset the sway on the wearer, if it is not very pronounced. If you hand pick the zipper, you can do this as you sew it in. If it’s a significant sway, this won’t be enough.

Oh boy. Satin, bridesmaids and invisible zippers. Yikes.
